Well, dadi posted this long Q&A on writing and I had to do it.

What's the last thing you wrote?
Angry City, a Wraeththu Mythos novella.

Was it any good?
Yes, I think so.

What's the first thing you ever wrote that you still have?
I have almost everything in a box. One of the earliest things I have is a card I made for my grandmother that has a poem about how she makes the flowers bloom, she's so wonderful.

Was it any good?
Very cute.

Write poetry?
Yes. Almost always depressing, dark stuff.

Angsty poetry?

Favourite genre of writing?
I love reading weird fantasy and science fiction. For my own writing, I write mainly the same, but I do a lot of non-fition writing as well.

Most fun character you ever wrote?
Lisia in Breeding Disconent. "Fun" in terms of developing him into a "real person" with Bridgette.

Most annoying character you ever wrote?
Probably that doctor in Breeding Discontent, Tiahaar Botbek or whatever.

Best plot you ever wrote?
Hard to say. I will say I sometimes like the simplest the best, like the one where the vampire wakes up under a WWI battlefield.

Coolest plot twist you ever wrote?
Also hard to say -- I've done lots of twists.

How often do you get writer's block?
Not often. Either I'm writing or not. I don't ever sit there in front of a blank page unable to write.

How do you fix it?
I write when I'm ready.

Write fan fiction?

Do you type or write by hand?
Type. The only time I write it out is if I'm on the go and just want to scribble down dialog or ideas or something.

Do you save everything you write?

Do you ever go back to an old idea long after you abandoned it?
Yes. Or I take an old story and redo it, like I'm doing with the novella.

What's your favorite thing that you've written?
I'm very proud of an unpublished (yet) Wraeththu Story I wrote called "Something's Coming" about an autistic boy who gets turned Wraeththu.

What's everyone else's favorite thing that you've written?
Probably Breeding Discontent, as lots of people have bought the book and read it. Online, Trivia, a VC "novel" I wrote with almostnever.

Do you even show people your work?
Duh! Yes.

Who's your favourite constructive critic?
Storm. Also: Bridgette and people in the writers group I'm in.

Did you ever write a novel?

Have you ever written fantasy, sci-fi, or horror?
Yes, all.

Ever written romance or teen angsty drama?
Searching my memories... no, don't think so.

What's your favorite setting for your characters?
It really depends; I don't have a "typical" setting.

What's one genre you have never written, and probably never will?

How many writing projects are you working on right now?
My own writing, I'm editing a new Wraeththu novella of mine. There's another Wraehthu novella I have planned but not written. I also have an original SF novel I've been working on for 3 years or so. And I have a whole list of short story ideas. In addition, I'm editing several books.

Do you want to write for a living?
Of course. Unlikely that would ever be my SOLE income, however! I do make some money on it already now though.

Have you ever written something for a magazine or newspaper?
Many times, as I was a journalism major and have worked for newspaper and mags. I also edit an online zine.

Have you ever won an award for your writing?

Ever written something in script or play format?
Yes, both play scripts and lots and lots of scripts/screenplays for TV shows, videos, etc.

What are your five favorite words?
Fuck and shit maybe. LOL. Erm... not sure otherwise. I love words though.

Do you ever parody?

What's your favorite thing to parody?
Pop culture. Example: the VC story I wrote about Louis getting a Flow-bee.

Do you ever write based on yourself?

What character that you've written most resembles yourself?

Where do you get ideas for your other characters?
Everywhere, including friends, famous people, people I just make up in my head.

Do you ever write based on your dreams?
Many times.

Do you favor happy endings, sad endings, or cliff-hangers?

Have you ever written based on an artwork you've seen?

Are you concerned with spelling and grammar as you write?

Does music help you write?
Yes. I always have music on when I write. It has to be a certain kind, however, which depends on what I'm writing.

Do you have a weblog or livejournal?
Um... duh!

Are people surprised and confused when they find out you write well?
No. *shrugs* Why would they be?

Quote something you've written:

“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Electric demanded.

Furious bristled. “Nothing’s wrong with me, you idiot, except for this crap you keep pulling. Get back to the wheel.”

Midnight and Orange stood tense, watching the confrontation, ready to jump in at any moment.

“No, I won’t,” Electric declared. “Not until you get back to singing!”

Furious walked in a half-circle and threw up his arms. “Oh, right, and what the fuck have I just been doing for the past two hours? Licking your soume-lam?”
