Caution: Vulgarity Alert

I just don't understand

I get spam and the subject line is:

BREAK HER WALLS WITH YOUR BIG SHAFT

I'd like to see some spam titled

CHOP OFF HIS SHAFT WITH YOUR RAZOR PIRANHHA P*SSY

Darn!

Sorry, don't know what's gotten into me. Can I "just snap" and then use the Twinkie defense?

A Magazine Recommendations and Food for Thought

Prompted by my recollection from yesterday of how back in the day, early 90s, I used to read this magazine that was all international news stories translated and compiled, I went out and found it online. World Press Review seems as good as ever and boy, do they have some food for thought. Not just international perspective on the Iraq "situation" (more on that in a second) but a look at what ELSE is happening in the world. It's fantastic. There's a round-up of world reaction to Bush's State of the Union address that were just DEADLY (and no, I don't mean the reaction from Iraq's official news service). I also found an article "American Liberals Torn" that comes in with a lazer and has a look at the conflict that exists between one the one hand, being against imperialism, wanting to intervene for humanitarian grounds, being against war, wanting a dictator out, etc.

American Liberals Torn

This article originally appeared in Süddeutsche Zeitung.

Sample quote:
The underlying dilemma is the clashing of two principles on which the liberal worldview is equally based: a humanitarian conviction and anti-imperialism.

Total Information Awareness

I keep thinking I'm dreaming but no, this seems real:

http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/02/12/total.information.ap/index.html

Includes one of CNN's lovely understatements, made in the interests of being fair I suppose: The project has met some resistance in Congress because of privacy concerns. Some lawmakers are pushing an amendment to a spending bill that would prohibit the system from ever gathering information on American citizens without a congressional vote approving it.

Tja, hmm, yeah, this system has some HINTS of issues...
