i just had a really, really super intense magical energy experience. damn. i wrote an essay about it for storm's iseum list and posted it and will be putting it on inception, but i'm not so sure about describing it here. (mercredi, i may send it to you though.) suffice it to say, i am feeling QUITE good right about now. i cannot believe the things i can do with my head. i feel like a mystic.
Well, a few weeks ago I finally started to accept that inevitably, I would be getting a DVD player. At the same time, I wasn't about to just go get one at any random time, for no specific purpose. Instead, I told myself I would take it as a "sign" if and when my favorite movie, Wings of Desire, was made available. (The VHS is out of print, although I am lucky enough to have a copy I fought for and won for $60 on eBay.) Well, I happened to mention to this in the Wraeththu chat yesterday and was informed by Gabby that, lo and beyond, Amazon had it as being released this summer! Naturally I put a pre-order on it right away and got this book Swordpoint as well so I could get free shipping. I am so excited. It will come in July sometime. Meanwhile I will be on the lookout for some kind of player. I'm thinking I may go to Best Buy and look there since I wanted to talk to them about some sort of wireless stereo system to hook into my amp system.
Man, I like biking. Sure, I get this horrible burning feeling in my lungs (no matter how much or how little I exercise, it's there) and I bitch about it beforehand and get sweater after but bodily, I feel so endorphiny and creamy afterward, it's very nice. I mean, I'm "up" enough that making copies of my tax forms doesn't seem like some hideous activities. (I had better act quickly, however, before the feeling wears off.)
All this weekend, my bird Pell has been playing with a toy. It is quite shocking, given that neither bird ever seems much interested in playing with anything that's not food or made of wood and/or designed so you can pick the bark off. Pell is going crazy attacking this toy, biting it, thrashing around with it, making a racket, which is quite a feat for a little budgie :) Anyway, it's like baby steps for these birds, as they are rather "special" in terms of their development. I think growing up in a pet store probably damaged them in some way that's beyond anything but time to fix.
Somebody got a cell phone and can't stop dialing it. I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN! Hopefully the novelty will wear off. SOON. And now I will stop myself from further ranting because the someone will read this.
