it's a small world, confusing too

i sent out an email last night via the neighborhood list, a round up of jazz fesival events taking place next month. as often happens, a resident replied to it, only this response was a bit different than others:

let the roll down competition begin...hee hee! luv ya luv ya...you sure looked cute seepin this mornin my lover.

i know who sent this message, now i'm like hmmm, was i really seepin this mornin? or was this message just totally not meant for me?

well, it WASN'T for me! i wrote the lady back and she said:

yes wendy...I meant to forward that to Michael but cracked myself up as well
when I realized that I sent it back to you. seepin is a little pet name for
sleepin. Just a little embarrassed. The rolling down the hill comment was
because last year Michael and a good friend of ours got so drunk they
decided to roll down that big hill in piedmont park like kids...Michael had
a rash for a week...really funny!

industrial site/catalogs with good design?

if anyone happens to know of a an industrial supplier (office goods, packages, tools, heavy machinery, office furniture, "not fun" stuff) that has a good web site with actual STYLE, please let me know. i need some inspiration for the next site i'm doing -- an industrial logo mat company. i want the site to have way, way more life than the average. basically, we are looking to completely makeover this site.

Friday Five: Celebs

I can't take this topic seriously.

1. Who is your favorite celebrity?

Probably Madonna.

2. Who is your least favorite?

Ja Rule.

3. Have you ever met or seen any celebrities in real life?

If we're talking entertainment celebrities, no, not really many. Politicians and some writers and cult figures and rich developers, yes. I've had some lovely moments with Kate Bornstein, probably one of the most famous transsexuals.

4. Would you want to be famous? Why or why not?

Yeah, long as I could stay indie, he he.

5. If you had to trade places with a celebrity for a day, who would you choose and why?

Hmmm. Maybe I could be Johnny Depp and get dressed up in tight period clothing and touch myself all day? Tee hee!

F*cking Depressing & Outrageous

From today's news:

IRAQI ANTIQUITIES: Museum thieves not mere looters
Jocelyn Gecker - Associated Press
Paris --- Professional thieves, probably organized outside Iraq, pillaged the nation's priceless ancient history collections by using the cover of widespread looting --- and vault keys --- to make off with irreplaceable items, art experts and historians said Thursday. The bandits were so efficient at emptying Iraqi libraries and museums that reports have already surfaced of artifacts appearing on the black market, some experts said. Certain thieves apparently knew exactly what they wanted from the irreplaceable Babylonian, Sumerian and Assyrian collections, and exactly where to find them.

Interestingly, there was an editorial I also saw from someone saying imagine if somebody took the Liberty Bell or U.S. Constitution in time of war? (Hmmm, actually somebody has taken the Constitution in time of war, but that was not my though. Ahem...) That to me is nothing comparable. The stuff in Iraq's museums is ANCIENT. It is a long-standing cultural heritage, not even something from their present culture, unlike a bell or a piece of legislation. Anyway, overall I'd have to say that plain old sucks.
