If the sight or thought of blood makes you sick, skip this

So it was July 7th that I last went to the Rec Cross and was told I was STILL too low on iron to donate, although my levels were higher than last time. They told me I should call back in a month to reschedule. I don't think I will though. It's true I've been taking a 320mg iron supplement every night since then, but it's all true that I've had a BLOODY NOSE every single day too! It started the night I went in to donate. I know it started from me clearing my nose too forcefully but since then, the membranes just don't hear right and every day (often at work) and night when it gets stuffy and I unstuff it, GAHHHHH! serious bloody fucking mess! What I really hate is the bloody snot. That is just NASTY. I should just install an alarm on my nose so any time I unconcsiously go to touch it, it rings an alarm. I wonder how much iron is in a nosebleed?

Plague of the IT worker

Had a programming dream. It's been a while. This one wasn't actually too bad since it wasn't on of those extremely anal coding ones where I'm shuffling <b>'s and fixing<font> tags (or one of the crazy ones where I invent HTML code that's 3D or smells). No, this one was more general, where I was working to put together a page for Inception that somehow I had forgot to do last night. It wasn't really any article but more like some kind of compendium of Wraeththu vegetables and fruit. There were a whole bunch of items listed with description and each one was a link that went somewhere. In the dream I kept shifting the order of the listing and I also kept thinking I'd missed one or had spelled one wrong.

why whY wHY WHY

So I have this big contract. Already. I also am editing a book. And I have a job. And a life. And so another customer of mine, who I haven't heard from in ages, and announces he's got plans for his web site. And I write back and say, "Hmmm, what kind of project is this? I don't have time to commit to any major projects, esp. not e-commerce." And what does he write me back with? E-commerce! I've give him some credit though, since he did send me a site that does what he wants and he also added "Let me know what you can do, even if it takes the rest of the year!." So should I tell him I'll start work in October????? Because I really don't want to start before then *eg*

*sticks in strand of spaghetti* oh, look, it's done!

i finished inception. this is the web zine i run. this is the eighth issue so basically two years. hard to believe. i have to say, this is a very quality web zine and also, have to credit that fan base out there because it seems like a lot of fan zines die for lack of contributions -- not this one. of course i do hound people pretty regularly for submissions (submit to me! bwaahahahah) but if they didn't do it, inception would be nowhere.

anyway, check it out, even if you don't known storm constantine from pope constantine. there's some nifty artwork, book reviews, articles, poems... get your ice cold inception!

Pants

I bought a pair of pants this weekend at New York & Company. I really need pants since out of like 12 pairs, only 3 fit, and the ones that do fit are too hot/tight considering I walk and it's summer in Atlanta. I am sick of wearing dresses and skirts every single day. So I got a pair of black, cotton pants, size 16 TALL, so they fit. Fit well actually (OK, a bit tight in the middle, what's new?) but all the same, I look at them and think "OK, when's the band concert?" or "What restaurant am I working at?" LOL. I guess I will try them out tomorrow.

Lovin' SpamKiller

I swear, I've been working at night as always and it's so weird, I keep thinking "Damn, I'm not getting any emails" because I'm not being interrupted, but then I check and sure enough, SpamKiller is just getting them all for me. Only if I get an actual non-spam message does the mail icon flash. Then I can go make sure it's real, and THEN I can pull it into Outlook. It's great. And it makes me more productive for sure!

altered states

my dear susy used to talk about altered states. well, i'm in one now. not only am i off in the creative world of writing and rewriting, but i had a huge "chocolate craving" frozen coffee/chocolate drink, followed by a drinkie shot of chilled frangelico and a drinkie shot of chilled chambord... and i've burned a stick of rose incense and another of sandalwood. oh, and candles have been burning for like two or three hours, started at 9 and it's nearly midnight. and this apartment has really poor air circulation. i am getting woozy! fortunately, i am almost done AND i'm rather happy with what i've accomplished. i think moving from this state to just plain asleep will be easy.
