Running Myself Into the Ground

So Caleb and Daniel were gone all this week (still are) and what did I do but use the break to run myself into the ground?

It's true I did have some fun and indulgence, like going shopping at Perimeter Mall and last night hanging out with Jess, but basically I used this week to work, work, work. Last weekend I kind of holed myself up doing work on Inception, also finished up editing Ch. 2 I think, then Tues., Wed., and last night I worked on Ch. 4 and stayed up until 1 or later doing that and other stuff. And those all day meetings... Ugh.

Now I have one more workday and tonight and probably all day tomorrow I'm planning on finally doing my *client* work, since I've put that off all week. Sunday I shall hopefully rest (appropriate I guess).

Meantime, my calves are so incredibly sore today (why, I still don't know) that I'm not even walking to work, I'm taking the bus 3/4 of the way. Last night I was hobbling around so bad on the gallery walk, I felt like I was 80. Owww.

Friday Five: Travel

The Friday Five
www.fridayfive.org

1. What's the last place you traveled to, outside your own home state/country?
Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Vermont, last month.

2. What's the most bizarre/unusual thing that's ever happened to you while traveling?
Hmmm... Done lots of bizarre/unusual stuff. On my last trip to Germany, went to a Renaissance fair in costume, ate a Roman meal (also in costume) in Xanten, ate raw herring in Cologne. On a trip to New Orleans I stayed in a place decorated like a bordello. I took the bus from Boston to Atlanta once... that was odd. One time I had a crazy flying adventure where U.S. Air put me a cab from Newark to Ithaca. Can't figure what is really far out.

3. If you could take off to anywhere, money and time being no object, where would you go?
England. Again. I would just like to go to the country and relax. Fortunately, I'm going in October for two weeks.

4. Do you prefer traveling by plane, train or car?
Hate cars, don't mind planes (took plane to Savannah rather than drive), and trains are great except in the U.S. there are so few of them. I could ride the German train system for weeks and be happy as a clam. Atlanta doesn't even have passenger rail.

5. What's the next place on your list to visit? Personal or business?
Not sure if the question means where I *am* going to where I want to go. I'll assume it's the former. For personal, I'll be going to England in October. (My mom wants me to go with her and Dad camping in NY state in two weeks but usual her timing is really bad.) For business I'm going to Salt Lake City in November.

Sigh of Relief

Just overheard my supervisor on this hideous accounting overhaul project talking to my boss about how he is thinking that rather than using me on this project, he'd like to get our actual business analyst. He pointed out that my day-to-day supervisor will be on maternity leave all fall and since I'll be taking her workload as well, it's doubtful I could really be totally committed to that. Plus the business analyst is more qualfied to do business analyst work! (Imagine!)
