Go ahead, enjoy Schadenfreude

My breath smells like durian today. Funny (and thankfully), I haven't been eating any. It is gross though. Anybody reading who has normal breath, you don't know how lucky you are. I think I could potentially kill someone by kissing them. Ugh.

Well, bowl me over!

Darn, looks like that New England mainstay, candlepin bowling, is becoming seriously endangered. Bummer. That was something I grew up with. Not only did the family used to go out on candlepin outings -- and *great* sport for kids, since the balls are only softball size and the rules make it easier -- but I used to watch it on TV. For some reason, bowling was fascinating on TV, certainly moreso than golf could ever be. Sigh. Soon Hood will stop making Hoodsies. What is the world coming to?!

Purple Rain

Borrowed the DVD while I was over at malibran's cat-sitting. LOL. This movie simultaneously cracked me up and wowed me on several levels. Thanks, Daniel!

left, middle, right

I read a great article recently on how the Republicans are now seeing their right wing as their middle and their middle as the left and their left as Democrats. Well, in the past week I've seen Sen. Joseph Lieberman going off on "left-wing Democrats." Too bad the people (candidates) he talks about don't seem very left wing.

I should dig up the notes on the political spectrum I took ten years ago in high school and try to place people. That would be an instructive excercise, no doubt.
