My brain is mashed

I was going to go to bed early tonight but noooooooooooo, I happened to flip to the finale movie of M*A*S*H and sorry, that's just impossible NOT to watch.

I grew up watching that series in live broadcast or reruns. I think I must've watched it every weeknight (sometimes twice, in the case of reruns) for like 7-8 years. I think I know the episodes even better than I do ST:TNG, which is saying something! Anyway, love that finale episode. I actually didn't see it when it was originally on because I was around 9 and think it ran too late at night (which didn't always stop me from watching stuff late, but my parents must have been paying attention that night). I remember my dad had some kind of meeting for church and went out to it knowing the finale was on. He was all grumbly that nobody showed up -- it set a viewership record that was unbeaten for years -- but then he spent like 5 years complaining he'd missed the beginning of the show.

Anyway, that last episode, though I think over 2 hours long, is such a classy finale, almost unbeatable. I really treasure it and all that show taught me.

And I don't care what my dad says, I will always love Hawkeye :) Dad pretty much thinks of Hawkeye -- and/or Alan Alda, as he sees them as same person -- as being the epitome of a loudmouthed, annoying Yankee Democratic liberal pro-hippie slacker, while I of course thought, "Wow, when I grow up, I wanna be like that guy!" LOL

Wendy Darling

I seem to have recently lost a good deal of my Google ranking to a fictional character. I'm still coming up in the top 10, but that damn Barrie creation has supplanted me. Grrrrrr, how dare she!
