Boom! went my email

Anybody who sent me email in the last like 10 hours... Whatever it was just got erased in some kind of freak SpamKiller accident. I saw on the preview that I had messages and was cleaning out the spam and kept getting this message "not on the server." So I said screw it and tried to download them into Outlook but there was nothing there. And then when I had SpamKiller update the mail it was all GONE. I have no idea what alternate dimension it's in now and it kind of worries me... esp. since I hadn't even read any of the good messages yet and didn't quite see what they all wore, so some really important note could have got zapped.

Yawn

Perhaps to all the excitement last night I am having a really hard time waking up today. I first of all slept late ('til almost 9) and over two hours later, I'll still groggy and facing up to the work I had planned to do today ("Oh, a whole day FREE, no appointments!") is a daunting thing.

P.S. Silly site of the day: Bad Scrabble Hands.

Doldrums

OK, today is just not going to happen. Or at least I'm not going to happen along with it. I am SO exhausted. My head seemed to be filled with cotton and I'm sore to the bone, got a headache going down my jaw and into my ears. Naturally today was the day I thought I'd be getting SO much done.

On the bright side, I don't seem to be depressed.

Grrrr

SpamKiller just ate my mail again. This time it was only 2, which I'd looked at but hadn't downloaded in Outlook yet. It was weird. All I did was check if more mail had some and it deleted those two and gave me another one. But the mail is no longer on the server. It's not anywhere. It's just gone. I'm thinking of turning the program off because it freaks me out.

Wow, Tom!

Well, I snapped out of my lethargy long enough to update a client web I really love: Tom Haney. Tom is a friendly neighbor and resident genius (or "ingenious" really!) because darn, if stuff just isn't amazing. I mean, the carving along would be cool and yeah, the key-operated pieces are fun, but things like this motor-driven Balinese dancer are amazing. He makes all the cams and gears HIMSELF and the motor goes for 8 minutes and runs the whole thing. It took him 250 hours start to finish and I think he sold it for around $7,000. Even though he's shown me his workshop and I've read all the descriptions of how he does it, I really wonder... How does he do it?

Gay folks getting married in my home town?

Yeah, that's right, as of SATURDAY, MAY 15th, that whole gay marriage thing is going to be legal in Massachusetts and even in my home town, people are calling the clerk at least out of interest.

Marriage Monday?

Note this quote:
Andover Justice of the Peace Rosalie Bialy has not received any calls or queries from same-sex couples, but she will be happy to preside over such weddings if she does get requests, she said. "I'm kind of glad the same-sex couples are being offered the same opportunities you and I have. Many of these couples are already living together or have children. It's kind of refreshing that someone wants to make it legal," said Bialy.

Of course, this is only one side of that whole Culture War up there...
