Owww

Sh*t, my ears hurt! Or I should say, they're hurting especially *noticeably* at the moment. They always hurt... the kind of dull ache you eventually don't notice because it's always there. But then the pain just goes up really high, like somebody turned up the volume, and it's like "Owwwwwww!" The pain actually goes into my jaw and throat, so it's got to be some stupid sinus or allergy thing, which has randomly decided to plague me. Wish I could stick ice cubes into my ears!

Easy work

I just designed a "rack card" for my client who has a bed & breakfast. Jeez, have to say, it is a hell of a lot easier to design a print publication than any web thing!
Still, she's paying me the same rate she always done for my various service, which have so far included not just the design of her web site, but submitting her to search engines, search optimization, getting her listed on B&B directories, and now doing marketing materials. She just kind of calls me up and says "Can you do this for me?" like I'm personal asst., only she has me bill her for it so who cares! As soon as she approves the design, which I did as a PDF for her, I'll go over to Kinko's or Alphagraphics to have them do a couple hundred of them on some nice cream card stock. And then I send an invoice, one of my *favorite* things!

To be graphic about it...

... yeah, the discipline has been working.

Today I'm wearing this skirt Caleb's boss Alycen gave me like 2 years ago that I never really wore b/c it's satin, possibly the worst fabric ever if something is going to be too tight on you. I could technically get into it but it was torture. Now it just slips on.

Pile it on, will ya?

You know, today I have this feeling that while I may have left my job because I hated having somebody to answer to (i.e. a supervisor, a boss, up the chain), now I have like 20 people to answer to (i.e. my clients and then all the *other* people who want stuff). It's been "Gimme gimme, can you, can you," all day long.

So far today I've:
- Compiled 2 pg. of Downtown Atlanta trivia for festival this weekend
- Written Bil outline of SciFi summer panel we're dong this week
- Created "rack card" for B&B client
- Talked with Christopher at Caleb's work about doing a new project site & image survey... by the end of this week (eep!)
- Updated CAP web site with entertainment schedule for the festival
- Prep'd Downtown pictures requested by Meridian Property group for a brochure
- Researched options for so Caleb's company can batch-process images to have watermarks
- And a ton of other sh*t... my brain is fried at this point.

The advantage of clients over bosses is that I've found clients are way more forgiving than a boss. Only a few of my clients are really super demanding and need stuff ASAP or get mad if I am not exactly on time with something. Also, my clients are much more in the dark about what I'm doing and don't walk into my office and see I'm there playing Bookworm... LOL.

Owww cont.

This pain is my head is driving me nuts. I can't figure out if I need to go to my dentist, my allergist, my regular GP or an ear doctor. This problem had gotten better back in the fall when I was treated for a massive sinus infection but I think it must be back b/c it feels like when I had my wisdom teeth pulled out, really hurts. Actually I'm pretty sure it's NOT my teeth because when I put my finger into the back top, that's not sore... it's this area like behind that right where my ear is. I bet it would be easy to do Reiki on, however, since I know quite specifally the problem is. Just I hope it's not an infection, those drugs I had to take before were mood-altering.
