Logged in to SunTrust bank this morning and sitting in my checking account is my first paycheck from GTRI! Whoo hoo! How satisfying!
Over the past year, as a self-employed person working at home, my "phone phobia" has become less of a problem, mainly because I really have been *forced* to call and be called, to talk to clients, CPAs, tech support, etc. In general I no longer put off calls for weeks or avoid calling a client who requests to. I'm more pragmatic and less silly about it.
However, occasionally the problem does rear its ugly head. Like today, when I had somebody to call and could have called this morning, but instead I went out for my allergy shot, then lunch, then grocery shopping, before getting home at 1. I could have called then, but instead I cleaned & vacuumed the kitchen/dining/living area and frittered away my time in other ways. Finally at 3:30 I summoned the strength to call. The conversation went perfectly fine, the only downside being it was 45 minutes long (any client phone call over 15 minutes is too long, IMO) and left me with a really sore throat.
Meanwhile I also am super itchy, I think from all the dust I turned up while cleaning, but hopefully this will go away; I may take a shower to be sure it does. Tonight there's a neighborhood happy hour and I usally get dressed nice for that (flaneur that I am) so a shower would get me "freshened."
"That answer made me almost want to scowl."
I think the woman sitting behind Bush during his closing remarks shared that sentiment.
