Sittin' on the Fence

Just kidding... I live on the fence.

Klein Sexual Orientation Grid

I scored an average of 3.24

01 2 3 4 5 6
HeterosexualBisexualHomosexual

Meaning

This result can also be related to the Kinsey Scale:

0 = exclusively heterosexual
1 = predominantly heterosexual, incidentally homosexual
2 = predominantly heterosexual, but more than incidentally homosexual
3 = equally heterosexual and homosexual
4 = predominantly homosexual, but more than incidentally heterosexual
5 = predominantly homosexual, incidentally heterosexual
6 = exclusively homosexual

Summary

The idea of this excercise is to understand exactly how dynamic a person's sexual orientation can be, as well as how fluid it can be over a person's lifespan. While a person's number of actual homo/heterosexual encounters may be easy to categorize, their actual orientation may be completely different. Simple labels like "homosexual", "heterosexual", and "bisexual" need not be the only three options available to us.

Take the quiz

--

Lately I have been feeling really gay. Like I tried to take a quiz on what guys are hot and I just found it icky. I've also thought back over the years and can think of only a couple of crushes I've had on men, while meanwhile women have come up prominently in crushes, dates, friendships, fantasies, etc. I definitley find men attractive, but the ones I like are about 90% likely to be gay, most likely partnered up, so there's no point in pursing them really. As if I would.

German Cars

For Christmas I gave my nephew Owen a little German Polizei (police) car, like a Matchbox car, only, well, German. My brother emailed me today thusly:

When you go abroad, and you happen to see them, could you get foreign police cars, fire trucks, etc. The matchbox ones. Owen loves his German police car. It is his favorite (we rarely see the old black and white), carries it around, brought it to school, etc. He used to really be into the double decker bus and taxi we got in London (although he never warmed up to the farmer's truck we bought in Scotland). Anyway, anything that hits your fancy that you might see in the airport shop or something. We'll reimburse, etc.

He doesn't have to reinburse me, I'm SO game to buy more Polizei cars, etc. I can get him little beer trucks, mineral water delivery service vans, streetcars, buses, Minis, etc. Any excuse to go toy shopping is a good one, but especially if it's to buy for family!
