Yesterday I was talking to a neighbor of mine, a doctor with Kaiser-Permanente. He doesn't tend to get into discussing details of his patients, which would be a faux pas anyway, but he does share occasional funny stories. Like:
A "sweet old lady" patient of his recently called because she was concerned about her sister, who has been diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease. "But, doctor," she said, "I don't understand how that can be! She's never been one to hang out with baseball players!"
[I guess this isn't funny b/c the woman was just old? I think it's funny!]
