I can't stop touching it!

As marchenland once pointed out, I'm kind of obsessed with my hair. Not lately really, but that's because nothing too exciting was going on. However, my patience has been rewarded and my hair has grown out into a lovely bob. The last time I went to my stylist, I asked her to cut my hair so even though it was short it'd grow out into a bob, if I just left it alone, and after a couple of months, it has. I've had to start wearing a barette to keep it from falling into my face. My hair's gotten really long and thick in front, no more products, no more messy hair. The color is a dark auburn and looks natural now that all the initial red-red has washed out. Right before Christmas I plan to get a nice shaping trip so the back is cut high and short, making the front even more dramatic. (This would be the source of the nightmare I had last night that I'd had my hair done as a Chelsea. Which is not the plan!) My pictures from Germany will probably show my hair off so I'll wait to post any pics 'til after I get back.

From thefridayfive - Thanks

I know this is so last week, but still...

1. What are you most thankful for?
Having a home.

2. Think back one year, have the things you are thankful for changed?
Not really. Last year I was in a similar financial situation, similar health problems, etc. The only two things I'm additionally thankful for: 1) my dad made it through his illness this spring and 2) I've improved my fitness through exercise.

3. What did you feast on yesterday?
Wonderful pot-luck "Orphans Thanksgiving" with the neighbors. Tony's turkey was awesome, as usual. The stuffing I made turned out delicious. I drank several rum & cokes.

4. This time of year is filled with parties, gifts, friends, and family, what are you looking forward to the most?
Seeing my family.

5. (insert December holiday here) is coming up, what if anything do you want for it?
On the cheap, I'd like more clothes for working out, like socks, sweatband, tank tops. On the expensive side, I'd like an iPod.

*BONUS: How do you like to cook your turkey?
I've never cooked a turkey. The closest I came was the first year I lived in Atlanta, when I decided to bake a chicken. I made a fabulous stuffed rosemary chicken. I think Caleb even ate some.

Good days, good days

Yesterday was one of those rare "good days" for me. I actually felt decent, Barbarella was on, I knocked out a TON of to-do's on my list (personal and professional), and at the gym I was able to give it my all -- in fact, I leg-pressed 240 lbs.!

Today I still feel pretty good. I don't think I'm going to fall asleep, knock on wood.

At work, I haven't have that much to do, but I found a few things to work on, like promoting the market's web site, helping an artist who wants to try selling her work here, etc. There's also just the normal work, like sorting mail, answering questions, watching the security eject people. I also took care of some of my own stuff, like asking a notary in the market to stamp a form I have to submit to the city. I'm renewing my "Female Minority Business" certification and if I do it by Dec. 15 I can use a short form instead of the giant application I had to fill out two years ago. So I'm actually ahead of the game!

As for the rest of the day, I have a couple of people I need to reach on the phone about the big Atlanta green space project I'm working on. I've tried 2-3 times this morning but I can't reach the people. I'll try again but meanwhile will sit down and work on other things, like the web site for my new specialized web business, which I want to launch in January. I also have a ton of Wraeththu fan fiction I need to post on Forever, now that people actually emailed it in to me. And then of course I have a fun manuscript I'm editing, xanath :)
