I rarely get to say this and heck, I rarely have the need to, but seeing as I can and need to, let me say it:

Stepped out the door this morning and thought, "Oh, shit, I should've grabbed my gloves."

By the time I got to Five Points station, I was thinking, "A hat would be good about now."

At Inman Park station, waiting for the bus along with a crowd of other freezing people, I was reading a grotesque story in a British goth lit mag thinking, "How cold, how cold, cold like a corpse." And kept reading on principle even though my hands were getting that blotchy blue look.

Getting off the bus, I thought, "Hmm, it's not quite as cold over in this neighborhood..."

But when I got into my office, I revised my opinion: "Holy sh*t, this place is an icebox!" Immediately put on the cashmere wrap I keep hung over the back of my chair. It keeps at least my shoulders warm. My feet are frozen though. Have had a couple cups of coffee in an attempt to keep my temp of my innards up. The insulation in this building is woefully inadequate facing outdoor temps below 60. And it's 38 ("feels like 31"), says the Weather Channel.

Tomorrow I'm wearing thermals under some heavy pants, turtleneck and wool sweater. Time for the Official Uniform of Winter!

Last Times

versailles_rose always reminds me of mondaysabitch, which like Friday Fives, I rather enjoy.

1.What is the last rebellious thing you did?
Ripped a "WAR IS OVER (if you want it)" flyer off a light post, where it was dangling, about to fall down. Stuck it in my bag and hung it up in my office. It's all crumpled, but after admiring it for a week while it hung on that pole, I couldn't let the Friends of John Lennon down.

2.When is the last time you saw a magic show?
In person, I'd say at least 15 years.

3.Who is the last person you'd want to go into business with?
So many people come to mind, but for now? Probably my ex-boss Tonette. Or my friend Enrique. They are both just way too disorganized and indecisive. Also, I think I'll avoid going into business with myself in the future.

4.When is the last time you injured yourself?
I do something or other to myself just about every day, even if it's just something small. Right now I have several nicks and cuts on my hands I can't explain.

5.Where is the last place you would expect to be having dinner tomorrow night?
Pizza parlor in Cologne, Germany. Although I wish I could, because tuna pizza is so d*mn good!

“So I'm, I'm wondered staying home now and I swear this is like the 1st time I actually been warmed all day. Since been on Moira, I was gonna dusk before now I'm on the training. I'm so cold at work like this this chill that will not leave my hand if you have like no warmth and I kept trying to walk around and I, I wrap my feet in my coworker. That's just like hook around my legs and I actually some taking on my feet and I was wearing a sock and I'm just up freezing. When I get home I think I might have to just soak my feet in the bathtub and some scolding water for a while cos I don't know what I'm gonna do. Get some hot board circulating on my feet but anyways you know. How often do I could take care you know, grown feet? I'm so cold post from Atlanta not often so I have to take advantage.”

I'm not editing that auto-transcription because that is just pure hilarious genius. I wrap my feet in my coworker?

Software Widget Rec: Clipboard Text Scrubber

If you, like me, have had it up to HERE with MS Windows automatically copying over formatting when you're copying-and-pasting from Word, the web, email, what have you, then this is your tool:

Clipboard Text Scrubber

It's free and seems to work nicely. All you do is put something on the clip board and then right-click the icon in the system tray, which will "scrub" the formatting, leave just plain text. It will also "scrub" HTML formatting and there's an auto function for when you just want to turn off the damn format copying -- period.

Finally I can stop opening Notepad every 10 minutes.

Another Free Goodie: PDF Hammer

And while I'm going through old emails and finding cool links I sent myself from work:

PDF Hammer

If you don't have the full version of Acrobat but need to work on PDFs, this online tool "allows you to edit your PDF files online for free." I'm definitely going to try this, since I'm already using a free PDF maker (PDF 995) due to my lack of home-based Acrobat software, so I may as well go all the way.
