Wraeththu

Writer's Block: Fictional Character

What fictional character do you relate to most and why?

Cal from Wraeththu. This isn't really because we are alike -- for example, I haven't slept with everybody I've ever met, LOL -- but because I really want to BE Cal. Not the murdering, suffering Cal, but the Cal who comes out triumphant and sexy and stronger than he was before. I would love to BE that character and because of that, I find myself drawn to him more strongly than to other characters. (My other favorite Wraeththu are Thiede, Cobweb, Snake and Tyson, Cal's son.) I want to be him AND have sex with him.

Writing meme

Writing meme, from freestylerocker... Mostly I've answered this thinking of fan fic, since I can't be bothered to catalog all the other creative fiction I've done.

What's the last thing you wrote?
Currently working on a Wraeththu fic. Central character: Cal. Other characters: Loki, Pell, Tyson, Moon, Cobweb, Snake... and more.

Was it any good?
I hope it will be.

What's the first thing you ever wrote that you still have?
I have a huge stash of writing from my childhood, including things I wrote when I was just learning to write. One of my biggest collections is stories and poetry I wrote when I was 8 or 9. Some of it is rather disturbing and prompted parent-teacher conferences. I should type it out and post it here someday...

Write poetry?
I used to write tons of it, back when I was much more filled with angst. I tend to write poetry only when I'm deeply upset, depression or angst-ridden.

Angsty poetry?
Pretty much. My main themes tend to be loneliness, pain, frustration, depression, existential angst, etc.

Most fun character you ever wrote?
Not counting Wraeththu characters Storm originated, probably Lisia, central character in Breeding Discontent.

Most annoying character you ever wrote about?
Can't think of one.

Best plot you ever wrote?
I'm really proud of "The First," a short fic I wrote for the Writer's of the Storm anthology. It depicts the first instance of aruna. Ever.

“I was walking through kind of like the under belly of downtown right now. It's a under pass. That's at Spring Street and it's creepy. Smells like pee and there's all this garbage and I just was looking at this area and it appears to have all the all those missing parking meters. You know those ones who gets smashed with the change. They all kinda like piled in a a field which is of course surrounded by trash and dirt paraphernalia. I'm walking here. I'm walking home from a meeting I had on Spring Street in mid town like trying to keep things you know straightforward. I'm just walking down Spring Street and I forgot that it gets really nasty over here. I mean, you know I'm living here. Well wait there are people living here but not during the day. So anyways, that's how this, not all, you know nice historic pretty buildings and moss and trendy peaks of rivers. It's It's got this really disgusting intersection which which also floods when it rains but fortunately it's not raining. What the fuck is that? I just saw some some insect that look like some ___. Anyways, signing out.”

I *love* the booboos auto-transcription makes. It makes it all *that much* funnier!

My favorite booboo from this one:

lofts and trendy pizzerias = moss and trendy peaks of rivers
