A Very Wet Parade

So Atlanta Pride is this weekend -- excuse us, the main venue was droughted-out, no festivals allowed -- and while the actual festival itself was even lamer than usual, the parade today was great. In fact, I'd say it was the most spirited ever -- because it poured start to finish but everybody kept on smiling and marching and cheering. Start time was at 1 and as usual, that meant huge cracks of thunder and lightning, which went on for over a half an hour, at which point the parade reached the block where the boys and I were standing. The clouds let loose for a full hour and the parade went down Peachtree. I didn't close my umrella 'til 2:30. But the marchers were all troupers, even the soaked drag queens and boys in feathers, even the 'lil group from The Weather Channel (based in Atlanta), even the scantily clad club dancers. So many wet T-shirts and briefs. Now the city's temp is down probably 15-20 degrees and the stink of pee (the scent of summer, ugh) has been washed away, so this afternoon will probably be a nice time for a second visit over to the festival. And though the festival is lame (Caleb and I went through the whole thing yesterday in 45 min., it was so ho-hum), at least it won't be 110 like it has been!

Cat Lovin'

So I come home from the parade wet and kind of sweaty.

Throw off my T-shirt and lie spread-eagled on the bed.

Luckie walks up and starts eating out my armpit. For five minutes. Because sweaty armpits are tasty.

It was hard to control my ticklish giggle fit but I managed.

Weird cat.

Swarms of these fools swarming around the edges of the festival and the parade today. Of course, they do get countered, like yesterday when I noticed this queen with rainbow balloons who was dogging this one street-corner picketer so you couldn't see him, only the balloons. But the "cock" T-shirt above is a great method too.
