Writer's Block: Eat Your Vegetables

The fall harvest is showing up in markets now, including many of the green vegetables children find so disgusting and yet are forced to eat. What is the most disgusting thing you’ve eaten, either by choice or against your will?

I always loved pretty much all kinds of vegies and fruit, except for squash and melons. As an adult I actually do like squash an melons. But the most disgusting thing I've even eaten? Durian. Second place: raw herring.

Trip in the Bag!

Thank to Caleb's travel-booking expertise, he and I are as of today booked for RT to Munich over Thanksgiving! And it's via Air France (croissants and fun in-plane gaming system) and under $700 per (amazing given travel prices).

We'll leave the Friday night before, be gone all that week, then return the Monday after Turkey Day. That's a lonnnnng trip, but YAY for that, after the Trip That Never Happened last June.

As for plans, we'll be staying with dear Martina in Munich and doing some side trips, like visiting with Dagmar & her folks in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and maybe overnights / day trips to nearby places like Salzburg or Augsburg.

Things to do: shopping, Christmas markets, castle/palace hopping, mucho pastry & coffee guzzling, picking up last 2 Harry Potters, ghost hunting.

Cat Normalization, Yayness

After around 6 weeks together, Luckie and Harry are getting along just great. It's so much better than I dared hope really! Right now they are both snoozing under the desk. When I get home they both jump on the bed and get their luvvins. They like to lie on the couch with me when I watch TV. They play kitty-tag with one another at least a half an hour a day, and that's only what I am here and awake to see. Luckie seems OK letting Harry pin her down and do the dominating neck-biting thing. I caught her grooming his poofy tail yesterday and he likes to do her ears (although he also likes to nibble on them). They will now play with the same toys together, like chasing the same toy or pulling on different sides of the same string. I think they are learning stuff from one another, too -- like Luckie I swear is learning that if she is a little more relaxed she can get more luvvins.

Note to self: I need to make Harry icons.
