What was your favorite childhood sit-com? Why do you think you loved it so dearly?
M*A*S*H -- which I to this day consider probably the greatest sitcom. I don't even remember -starting- to watch it because I grew up with it around me. I know by first or second grade (early 80s) we were watching it in reruns almost every night after dinner in the dining room / den. I know it might sound weird, but I loved that show even when I was 6 or 7 and couldn't possibly have gotten all the joke OR all the pathos. But my family enjoyed it and that enjoyment rubbed off on me. I also did pick up on a lot of the humor, cultural references, etc., eventually. I'm sure a good portion of my sense of humor, besides coming from my mom and dad, comes from Hawkeye Pierce. And Hawkeye -was- my favorite character. Always. Anyway, loved it then and still watch it any time I come across it on TV. If there's an episode of it I've missed... No, there couldn't be. I've seen the final episode around 10 times. Just. Not. Over. It.
