Had to go grocery shopping after work, just for a few things, including cat food. Took the bus and got off at the Publix on Cheshire Bridge to discover a brand new pet store -- Pet Supplies Plus! I marched straight in there, thrilled to bits because I have been wanting a pet store ON A CONVENIENT MARTA ROUTE for years!!!!! Not that the shops I go to aren't on MARTA, too, but they're not convenient, meaning they're not on my regular commute and/or require special, often tedious, trips out of my way. But this one is right on the bus I can take any time, pop off, then get back on. In fact, the location is served by -3- bus routes, which is nigh on incredible.
So anyway, pant, pant, pant, I ran in there and the store looks like it opened like yesterday. Maybe it did? Anyway, very well stocked, very neat, with everything I could want, pretty much. I immediately grabbed some hay because wow, the idea my guinea pigs don't have to go on "rations" so often is great. Knowing I'm going to have to go out of my way to shop for hay, I try to make it last as long as I can. Same for cat litter and other stuff. Oh, and I got cat food. Then I did a happy dance around the store as I looked at stuff. They have World's Best Cat Litter in three sizes, which is great since I can now carry off a large bag, MARTA runs so close by.
This whole thing made me so happy and excited, I am still zinged up a bit hours later. I just love the idea that I now have pretty much the last thing I need to make all my "necessities" easily accessible, without much going out of my way. I can now do all my errands -- grocery shoping, post office, bank, allergy shots, bank, etc., using train and bus routes I use anyway and not having to waste hours going slightly out of the way places. I also won't wait around 'til I happen to be able to score a ride with the boys, which I sometimes am lucky to do. We'll be in the car and I'll think how I hope they go to Petsmart, because when I go on the bus I swear it takes 2 hours by the time I'm over and home :( But now, I am free of that, which is great, as I hate hate hate to depend on cars, rides, etc.
Now, I just need to make sure I don't blow my budget in my excitement :)
